So here are a few different methods to use and we would be touching some reliable ones that would be easy enough for you to follow.

How to clean Tile floors

  • One way to take proper care of your tile floors so that they do not end up looking dingy and unkempt is to consistently sweep and vacuum them. As you do this, you would be removing the dirt that would otherwise get embedded in the tiles.

  • Another precaution to take is to not sweep the tiles with brooms- straw brooms as they can scratch the surface and make it look old.

  • Endeavor to also remove any spill stain immediately before it sets. Once a week, you can use warm soapy water to mop the floor; this should be done with a rag instead of a mop as mops tend to push the dirty water from the floor into the grouts which can be hard to clean.

  • Be sure of what cleaning solution you use for your tiles so it doesn’t bleach and damage the color of your tiles.

How to clean Grouts

Grouts are the whitish lines in-between floor tiles, they are used to hold the floor tiles together but they tend to accumulate dirt over a long period of time. They can be cleaned by any of these methods:

  • Using Baking Soda and Vinegar: a thick paste is made using a mixture of baking soda and water and it is applied to the grout lines, after this a solution which consists of a mixture of vinegar and water is sprayed on the previously applied baking soda paste. It initiates a bubbling reaction which indicates that the cleaning process has started already. When the bubbling stops, you scrub the grout lines with a brush, clean the floor with warm water and your floor is as good as new.

  • Using a Steam Cleaner: This method is relatively easier as you don't need chemicals that can potentially damage your tiles. All you need is a steam cleaner with the proper grout cleaning attachments. You can either buy or rent one. You turn on the steam cleaner, allow it to heat up and move the cleaning brush over the grout lines. The steam would remove any dirt and grime stuck in the grout. After doing this, clean with a dry cloth to remove excess water and watch your floor become clean and shiny once more.
